And Victoria Beckham’s anniversary styles score a perfect ten

AS TENTH birthday parties go, this probably didn’t get off to a dream start. Victoria Beckham had chosen to mark the occasion of her eponymous brand turning ten yesterday with a carefully choreographed catwalk show.
Instead, she started the day facing rather less glamorous headlines about her company’s financial losses amounting to £12million — £4,000 per day — over an eight-year period, admitting to editors waiting backstage it had been ‘stressful’.
Still, the show must go on, and indeed it did… at Mayfair’s grand Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac where the Beckham brood were out in force as per (and yes, Brooklyn is still dressing like an extra from Peaky Blinders).
The weird ways of the fashion world mean we are now seeing outfits for spring/summer 2019, and VB believes there is something for every woman in her forthcoming collection.
‘It’s all about celebrating women, not just the Victoria Beckham woman,’ said the former Posh Spice. ‘We haven’t always done so in the past.’
From trench coats to diaphanous print silk dresses, wide-legged trousers to slim-fitting tailored ones (with a front split to show off your shoes), there were colours and monochromes, big bags and strappy vest tops. It was all rather lovely.
Hopefully, VB let her hair down at the party she threw with Vogue editor Edward Enninful last night, although whether there was cake is anybody’s guess.
