Armie Hammer quits Twitter after being blasted by Buzzfeed

ARMIE HAMMER has quit Twitter in a rage after a Buzzfeed article alleged his success is down to him being a privileged white man.
The Hollywood star, tipped to win an Oscar for his role as a gay graduate in Call Me By Your Name, deleted his account after calling the piece ‘bitter af’.
The essay, entitled Ten Long Years of Trying To Make Armie Hammer Happen, scathed: ‘He’s starred in failed Westerns, spy remakes, fantasies, and historical epics. His blockbusters flop; his prestige pictures fall flat.’
It also asks: ‘Is Hammer truly a unique star finally finding his niche, or simply, a beautiful, pedigreed white man who’s been allowed, in a way that few others in Hollywood have, endless attempts to discover it?’
The story also said Hammer -named after his oil tycoon great-grandfather Armand Hammer — had used his publicity team to ‘retroactively reinterpret his choices, his failures and his career.’
In his final tweet, Hammer hit back: ‘Your chronology is spot on but your perspective is bitter af. Maybe I’m just a guy who loves his job and refuses to do anything but what he loves to do.’
The actor, 31, later received a consolation kiss from wife Elizabeth Chambers, 35, as his new flick won best picture at the Gotham Film Awards in New York.
