Band-ing together in love was tough for Cub Sport’s Tim & Sam

CUB SPORT bandmates Tim Nelson and Sam Netterfield say planning their wedding during Australia’s marriage equality debate in 2017 was ‘a lot’ to deal with.
Though the O Lord singers insist they had all the backing they needed when their pet pooches Missy and Evie walked them up the aisle.
The group will tour their self-titled third album next month, with bandmates Zoe Davis and Dan Puusaari, but told GP about the marriage furore first.
‘We were really fortunate to have an amazing supportive community around us throughout the debate,’ they said. ‘It was hard hearing some people’s homophobic views but the LGBTQI family and our allies are great at encouraging each other.’
They got their fairytale in the end, when the country voted in equality.
‘The wedding was incredible. A perfect day with our closest friends and family, and we had our dogs Missy and Evie as our bridal party which made it extra special.’
The Party Pill singers say fans also let them know the impact their union and music have on them.
‘We’ve had a bunch of people say it’s literally saved their lives which is an amazing thing to hear,’ they said.
‘We played two sold out London shows in May, and the vibe in the room was so full of love I was holding back tears on stage. We’re super excited to come back in February.’
