Bonk of England! The UK is more ‘relaxed’ about TV sex, says Dominic West

DOMINIC WEST says he just doesn’t get the big, er, affair surrounding sex on the box.
The 49-year-old, who romped with fellow Brit Ruth Wilson on hit Sky Atlantic TV drama The Affair, exclusively told GP that American audiences get their knickers in a twist far more than his home crowd.
‘I think we are quite relaxed about sex on TV… we are much more relaxed than Americans,’ West said at the Harper’s Bazaar bash.
That easy-going attitude also applies to showbiz parties.
‘They are a bit more relaxed here,’ he added, going on to describe the Hollywood counterparts.
‘Always in America, it can be a bit corporate. You don’t get that here.’ West could be in the running for some acting gongs as he’s on a hot streak with some headline-making roles — including a forthcoming stint as Jean Valjean in the BBC drama adaptation of Les Misérables.
However, downplaying his acting successes, he finished: ‘I’ve got season five of The Affair, and then Les Misérables is coming out in January and Colette with Keira Knightley.
‘I am not sure I am that sought after. I am quite old now, so I have done my time, really.’
