Brits George Michael tribute mystery

TONIGHT’S Brit Awards will pay tribute to George Michael, it has been announced — and organisers are keeping tight-lipped about what form the honour might take.
But with Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Robbie Williams, Skepta and Bruno Mars all set to perform at the O2 music event, it could be any one of them who has to top Adele’s Grammy tribute.
Ed did let something slip about his big performance, however.
Speaking to Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1 yesterday, he said he would be debuting something at the Brits that ‘people will go a bit nuts for’.
He added: ‘It’s something that I think nobody is expecting… I’ve managed to keep it secret up until now, which is good. But tomorrow night, I think we’re the penultimate act.’
Note the ‘we’ there. Could it be that Ed has a very special duet lined up?
Let’s hope, if it happens to be with Katy Perry, she’s on better than form than at her first Brits event back in 2009.
‘The first time I went to the BRITs I had a flu of maybe 102 and I was so sick,’ she revealed on Radio 1.
‘I walked the carpet and they were like “You can’t go home” as they knew I was gonna win, and I was like, “Why am I here? I’m literally dying.”
‘I went to the girls bathroom and went under a credenza and Natalie Imbruglia pulled up the curtain and was like, “Are you alright, babe?” and I was shivering with cold sweats.’
‘I had to stay and get the award and I just went straight to bed — it was tragic.’
