Can’t bill me now! Pete Doherty’s big breakfast

HE’S struggled with over-indulgence of another kind — but polishing off a huge gut-busting fry-up posed no problems for The Libertines star Pete Doherty.
The Can’t Stand Me Now singer took on a challenge that sees customers eat for free if they devour a mega-breakfast in 20 minutes at a café in Margate, Kent.
He avoided the £17.50 bill by putting away four eggs, four slices of bacon, four sausages, chips, hash browns, onion rings, bubble and squeak, beans, mushrooms and toast.
Dalby Café manager Alan Wood said the singer, who has moved to Margate with bandmates to set up a studio and hotel, took 19min 30sec. ‘Afterwards he just sat there and had a fag, watching the world go by,’ he said.
