Coleen: I’m not giving Wayne the red card
COLEEN ROONEY has announced that she and Wayne are trying to make a go of things after he made some ‘silly and selfish mistakes’ — but it’s not a simple case of taking him back.
The WAG, who is pregnant with the straying footballer’s fourth child, admitted she and her hubby had been through a ‘s*** time’, they’d spent time apart, and she had ‘thought my marriage might have been at an end’.
But she added: ‘Before the headlines start…. No, I’m not taking Wayne back as he’s never left.’
She began the lengthy Facebook post by admitting she had put her wedding ring back on and explained why she has not been wearing it lately.
‘It didn’t feel right wearing my ring, I see it as a sign of commitment and I was unsure what was happening,’ she wrote.
She added that people shouldn’t read so much into whether she was wearing it or not anyway as she often forgets to put it on before the school run and doesn’t wear it to the gym.
Coleen also asked that people stop feeling sorry for her, after Wayne was caught drink-driving at the wheel of another woman’s car following a night out in September.
‘Please don’t,’ she wrote. ‘I appreciate getting cared about, however, I am a strong person, I don’t feel sorry for myself.’
She also defended her decision to try to make things work with Wayne.
‘A few people are probably thinking am stupid for staying in my marriage. I am not stupid, I know my own mind and it’s something I want to try and work on,’ she said.
She also wrote: ‘It’s my decision …. do I love Wayne … yes I do. If I didn’t then I wouldn’t be trying to make it work.
‘I know I would be fine on my own, with just me and my children, but I don’t want to live like that, I want to try and continue our marriage and live as a family, because that’s what I want to do.
‘I’m not saying everything is fine and forgotten about, but we are as good as can be at this point.’
Coleen wasn’t above making a dig at her disgraced hubby, however, writing: ‘I’m not going to list his good qualities as a person as I don’t think he deserves it at this time but one thing is that he is a brilliant dad.
‘He’s made silly and selfish mistakes, some he’s learnt from, some obviously not. However maybe that will change?’
Many fans applauded her words.
One wrote: ‘What a brave and honest statement to make Coleen. You are a wonderful person with a beautiful family and I admire you. I wish you all the very best and hope the future brings love, peace and happiness xxx’
Another agreed: ‘Good for you girl. It’s no one’s business but yours and Wayne’s. Stay strong and I hope everything works out for you both xx’
But others were more sceptical, posting: ‘People called the girl involved a t***p amongst other names and yes she probably is but she’s also single. Wayne wasn’t… Coleen’s choice but he has zero respect for her…time will tell…’
Another wished her well, but pointed out: ‘It would have been better to hear a joint statement with Wayne explaining why he does this over and over instead of you doing it.’
