Corrie’s Debbie Rush: Leaving Weatherfield is terrifying

CORONATION STREET star Debbie Rush has admitted the prospect of leaving the soap is a bit on the scary side.
The actress will say ta-ra to Weatherfield after nine years as Anna Windass and revealed she currently has no plans about what she’s up to next — but wants to keep working.
She said: ‘It’s terrifying. It was frightening before I came into this because jobs are tough and they’re few and far between. And it’s what I did before and it’s what I’ll do again.
‘When I came here I thought, “If I stay for a year, it’ll be alright”, and here I am nine years later.’
Rush admitted she’d taken a while to come to her decision, but said she was excited about what might be around the corner.
Her exit storyline is a closely guarded secret but fans of the ITV soap are guessing she may be killed off by evil Phelan (Connor McIntyre).
The actress said the plot has been ‘a really fantastic opportunity’.
“I’ve really, really loved it,” she said.
The storyline quickens its pace in the Monday December 11 episode but kicks off properly the following Wednesday.
