Douglas Booth makes racket over new film role

DOUGLAS BOOTH won’t find much inspiration for his new rock star acting role among the strawberries and cream and Pimm’s at Wimbledon.

In an exclusive chat with GP, the British actor told us he is set to make a real racket in an upcoming film.

‘I’ve actually got two movies lined up,’ spilled Booth while hanging out in the Evian Live Young suite yesterday, ‘One’s about Mötley Crüe, which should be pretty interesting to say the least!’

After landing a part in the biopic — reportedly called Dirt — the 24-year-old put his finger on why Brits are making waves across the pond.

‘We’re more grounded here. It’s a smaller pool and prepares us better,’ he mused. ‘There is a lot of competition if you start originally in Hollywood.’

As for whether or not he’d like to appear in a Wimbledon-inspired flick, Booth downplayed his tennis skills and said it wouldn’t be a fair match-up.

‘My hand-eye co-ordination is terrible,’ he laughed.

Booth was joined at the All England Tennis Club’s star-studded soirée by Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall, 24, McFly’s Dougie Poynter, 29, and Charli XCX, also 24.
