Eurovision’s Slavko Kalezic whips up a fan frenzy

EUROVISION fans are up in arms after a plait-flinging singer failed to make it through to the final.
Montenegro’s Slavko Kalezic gave a bravura performance on last night’s show, donning a see-through mesh top and midnight blue floorlength skirt before whipping it off to reveal silver sequinned trousers beneath.
But it was his waist-length plait — and what he could do with it — that really wowed the crowd.
No amount of hair-whipping could get him through to the finals, however, and even the competition’s official Twitter account shared a clip of Slavko alongside the caption: ‘SLAVKO WAS ROBBED.’
Viewers seemed to agree, with the hashtag #Justiceforslavko doing the rounds.
One wrote: ‘YAS this is just beginning, absolutely you SLAYED Slavko!
Another suggested: ‘SLAVKO FOR PRESIDENT.’
Ten acts were picked out at last night’s event in Kiev, Ukraine.
Moldova, Azerbaijan, Greece, Sweden, Cyprus, Portugal, Armenia, Poland, Australia and Belgium are all set to join the ‘big five’ who have automatic entry to Saturday night’s showdown — including UK hopeful Lucie Jones.
The second semi-final airs at 8pm on Thursday on BBC Four
