Girls Aloud’s Nadine Coyle calls the shots: I won’t strip for cameras

NADINE COYLE pursued a career in acting — until she was asked to strip for roles.
The Girls Aloud singer grew sick and tired of being offered parts that involved being ‘some kind of seductress’.
In an exclusive chat with Guilty Pleasures, she said: ‘I was very typecast, directors were like, “Nadine, take your clothes off”. Is there a role where they don’t make me some kind of seductress?’
As a result, the Call The Shots singer ditched her Hollywood dream.
But the 32-year-old, who still lives in Los Angeles with former American football star Jason Bell and their daughter Anaiya, hasn’t completely applied the brakes to her screen ambitions.
In fact, she is to star in the second series of Channel 4 comedy Derry Girls.
‘The writer is from where I’m from. She’s going to write me a part,’ the Irish beauty confirmed.
Music still comes first and in May Nadine embarks on a UK tour where she’ll perform her own songs as well as the girl band’s hits. And she refuses to rule out a Girls Aloud reunion.
‘Never say never,’ she added.
But it doesn’t sound like she is close to her ex-bandmates, particularly Cheryl. Asked if she had advice for Chezza amid reports her relationship with Liam Payne is on the rocks, Nadine replied: ‘No, I’m not in touch. No advice.’
Nadine is taking part in the Give Up Clothes for Good campaign with TK Maxx and Cancer Research UK Kids and Teens.
Her new single Girls On Fire is out now.
