GMB: Richard Madeley rants at a guest then drops bombshell about daughter Chloe

PERHAPS the early starts are getting to Richard Madeley as he lost his cool at a cyclist this morning — before admitting that his youngest child was an ‘accident’.
Known for his straight-talking and sometimes embarrassing gaffes, Richard’s antics on today’s Good Morning Britain had viewers describing him as ‘rude’ and like a ‘real life Alan Partridge’.
It was during an interview with a cycling expert about yesterday’s guilty verdict for Charlie Alliston that the wheels really came off.

As Duncan Dollimore tried to explain that part of the problem was a lack of traffic police officers, an exasperated Madeley interrupted.
‘Oh look, you’re just not answering the question, sir — Sorry, sorry, sorry, sir, sir, you’re here to answer the questions,’ he said.
‘I am,’ interjected Dollimore.
‘Well, you’re not,’ shot back Richard. ‘We’re asking the questions — not on our behalf but on behalf of the viewers, so could you respect them?’
Desperately trying to get a word in Dollimore asked: ‘Well, which question do you want me to answer…?’
But Richard was on a roll by now: ‘Would you please answer the questions and not change the subject because we know that that’s what you are doing. You’re just talking over us and you won’t answer the questions.’
Some felt Richard had gone too far, with one branding him an ‘attention seeker’, while another tweeted: ‘Richard Madeley, you were so rude to the guy about cycling!’
But others enjoyed the exchange, with one tweeting: ‘Great stuff from @richardm56 on @GMB today! What a total breath of fresh air! The interview on the cycling story…!!’
And that wasn’t the end of Richard’s outspoken behaviour.

Later in the show, when discussion turned to gender reveal parties, he dropped his family bombshell.
‘I was telling Kate earlier that when we had our fourth child — Judy had two by her first marriage and then we had a little boy called Jack — and then Judy got pregnant very quickly again, it was an accident,’ he revealed.
‘Sorry, Chloe, but you were, and you know it.’
As one viewer put it: ‘Richard Madeley is without doubt the real life Alan Partridge.’
