Heaven is a race around Earth and North Korea’s first stop for Belinda Carlisle

HEAVEN is a young face on Earth for ’80s pop icon Belinda Carlisle.
Sharing the secrets of her youthful looks, the singer told Guilty Pleasures: ‘Liz Hurley recently said she would never have any surgery but admitted to having Botox. I think that’s fine. There is nothing wrong to wanting to look fresh.
‘I haven’t had surgery but I have had Botox and I don’t regret that. I haven’t had it in a long time. But if there is good stuff out there then why not take advantage of it,’ she added.
The Heaven Is A Place On Earth singer revealed the secrets of her quirky world before performing on the Guilty Pleasures stage alongside Lily Allen, Mel C, MNEK, Louisa Johnson and TLC at the Mighty Hoopla in London last night.
Belinda, a vegan, yoga and incense obsessive, shared: ‘I take obsessively good care of my skin and hair because I have to. I don’t drink. I am completely sober and have been for the past 13 years… and I feel amazing.’
The pop siren turns 60 this year but isn’t ready for the retirement home yet — in fact, she’s more of a backpacker, and says North Korea is top of her holiday list.
‘I live in Bangkok,’ she revealed. ‘I like a good mix of third and first world and I think the first world can be very boring and I like the combination.’
As for her plans for her twilight years, she said: ‘My 60th birthday is in August and I still can’t believe it. I still feel 21… 60 is just a number.
‘In my 60th year — and it’s always been on my bucket list — I plan to travel the Silk Road route, visiting Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. I can’t wait.
‘I really want to go to North Korea when it opens up and hopefully that will happen soon. I do a lot of travelling.’
