Holly Willoughby glad she ignored Simon Cowell’s terrible advice

HOLLY WILLOUGHBY has revealed that she once received some extremely duff career advice from Simon Cowell.
As the This Morning presenter and her co-host Phillip Schofield celebrated the show’s 30th birthday today, Holly revealed that the usually extremely discerning music mogul had told her moving to the popular daytime programme would be a ‘big mistake’.
Cowell’s ill-judged comment came as the rising star of The Xtra Factor was struggling with the decision over whether to move to This Morning.

Holly revealed today: ‘It got to the point where I had to let Simon Cowell know that I was coming to do This Morning and he said, “I think that would be a really big mistake.”’
To which her co-host of eight years Phillip — with whom she picked up a Bafta on Monday — exclaimed: ‘No way!’
Holly replied: ‘He did!’ — before adding gleefully: ‘Got that wrong.’
The close co-hosts have been full of praise for each other this week, with Phil revealing he only had eyes for Holly after Ferne Britton’s departure from the show.
‘I’d said I’m not doing it with anyone else, it has to be [Holly] or I’m not doing it,’ he said.
And Holly, for her part, gushed: ‘If it wasn’t for you, there is no doubt I wouldn’t be doing this.’
Yesterday, the show shared a clip of Phil and Holly’s funniest moments, which we think is worth a watch.
