How Spidey’s Tom Holland keeps his feet on the ground

NEW Spider-Man star Tom Holland has recruited his best friend as his personal assistant after taking advice from Hollywood’s leading superheroes.
The 20-year-old Londoner fretted that the level of fame he would experience by taking over the role of Peter Parker would leave him caught in a web.
Luckily, he was in a position to ask Thor star Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr how best to cope. Tom, soon to be seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming, exclusively told Guilty Pleasures: ‘Chris Hemsworth gave me some great advice.
‘Once I got cast, he sent me a lovely email about just make sure you keep your feet on the ground and don’t let this affect you.
‘You keep your family and your friends close, and that’s exactly what I’ve done. That’s why I’ve brought my best friend with me as my assistant — Harrison. He is my best buddy really — but don’t tell Marvel!’
Oscar nominee RDJ, who appears in Homecoming as Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, helped calm Tom’s nerves.
‘Rob gave me some sound advice when I did my screen test,’ he added. ‘He came up to me and said “relax and let your body take over, and if it is meant to be then it is meant to be”. And here we are today.’
If successful, Tom is in the running to complete a rumoured trilogy of Spidey flicks — which would seal a teenage dream.
He explained: ‘It’s every kid’s dream to have powers. Not necessarily Spider-Man powers but, if you told any 15-year-old kid they’ve got three wishes, one of them would be probably to have superpowers.’
Spider-Man: Homecoming is due for release in UK cinemas this summer.
