Jamie Dornan: I made my own pubic wig — and, unsurprisingly, didn’t get lucky

JAMIE Dornan has revealed that he inflicted Fifty Shades Of…Pain on himself as a 15-year-old — with a homemade pubic wig.
The actor, who stars in forthcoming erotic movie Fifty Shades Freed with Dakota Johnson, told chatshow host Graham Norton he had a far from erotic time in his youth because he ‘looked seven’ and ‘wasn’t hairy at all’.
Things got so bad for young Jamie that when he was invited to a post-show party, he decided to remedy the situation with a merkin of his own making.

‘For my role, I had bits of a black wig glued to my face for a beard and I decided to keep it for the party so I would look older,’ Jamie revealed.
‘I also decided to cut up the rest of the wig and glue it to my private parts, just in case I got lucky.’
Sadly, young Jamie’s facial hair did not lure any young ladies to delve any further down, so he was left with all the pain and no gain, as he explains.
‘I didn’t get lucky, and removing the bits of wig ripped out the very small amount of natural hair I had down there,’ he said.
‘It was a physically and emotionally painful experience!’
On a roll revealing embarrassing moments, Jamie also shared that a moment in the new film where he emerges from the sea — a la Daniel ‘James Bond’ Craig — was not as sexy as it looks.
The beach was so stoney he could barely walk on it, he said, and if the camera had panned down, it would have revealed some distinctly daggy footwear.
‘It was so not cool. They even put down a piece of carpet for me to walk on but I still struggled,’ he said.
‘In the end, I had to wear a pair of jelly sandals and no one looks sexy in those!’
And even A-Lister actors aren’t immune to wearing other people’s cast-offs, it would seem, as Jamie revealed he was given a choice of modesty pouches for his more intimate scenes with Dakota Johnson — but when he looked inside one, it said: ‘Inmate number three’.
Jamie was joined on Graham’s couch by Helen Mirren and Liam Neeson, who fondly recalled falling for Mirren on the set of Excalibur in the 1980s.

‘I remember being on the set and standing with [fellow actor] Ciaran Hinds as Helen walked towards us dressed in her full Morgana costume and we both went, ‘Oh f***’ and I was smitten,’ he said.
And Helen was similarly complimentary about her ex, chiming in with: ‘We lived together for four years, we were a serious item for a while. Lucky me!’
