Jay-Z opens up on Beyoncé marriage woes

JAY-Z says he and wife Beyoncé had to rebuild their ‘beautiful mansion of a relationship’ after cracks were created by dishonesty.
The rapper came close to addressing ‘cheating’ rumours Bey hinted at on record Lemonade, where she sang about ‘Becky with the good hair’.
Now, giving his own version of events, the music mogul confessed: ‘We built this big, beautiful mansion of a relationship that wasn’t totally built on the 100 per cent truth and it starts cracking.
‘Things started happening that the public can see,’ the 47-year-old, who was attacked by sister-in-law Solange in a lift at the Met Gala in 2014, explained. ‘We had to get to a point of, “OK, tear this down and start from the beginning”. It’s the hardest thing I’ve done.’
The 99 Problems hitmaker, whose new album 4:44 is out now, said he and Bey, 35, decided things in their relationship could no longer be ‘fake — not once’. And the dad-of-three hinted he had to beg the star not to walk out on him.
He recalled: ‘I was on a boat and I had the best time. I was like, “Man, this is great”. Then she had to leave. I was, like, crushed.’
The pair are now starting a new chapter in their high-profile marriage after welcoming twins Sir and Rumi last month. They also have a daughter, Blue Ivy, five.
