Liam and Kylie compete for Stephen Hawking’s voice

LIAM NEESON, Kylie and Felicity Jones are among the stars who have been fighting it out to voice Professor Stephen Hawking.
In a video released for Red Nose Day, the renowned scientist decides he’s tired of using his trademark voice synthesiser, so he starts to audition for a new one.
First up is Liam Neeson, who weedles: ‘Stephen, it’s me, surely it has to be me?
‘Listen to my voice: it’s deep, it’s sexy, it’s got a tinge of… physics.’
But he’s got competition from Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Stephen Fry and, er… Kylie, who explains that all her songs have in fact been about science.
‘I am a science addict,’ she says. ‘Spinning Around? It’s all about centrifugal force.’
Meanwhile, Star Wars actors Felicity Jones and John Boyega both vie for the voice because, as Boyega says: ‘You talk about space; I’ve lived it.’
But the best gag — other than the appearance of Miss Piggy — is perhaps Andrew Lloyd Webber trying to woo Prof Hawking with a rendition of his famous song from Cats.
Taking to the ivories, Lloyd Webber sings: ‘Memory, you have photographic memory…’
You’ll have to watch to the end to see which legendary Londoner the professor picks.
Red Nose Day coverage begins on BBC1 at 7pm tonight
