McMafia makes a comeback as BBC plans series two

THE BBC is to make a second series of crime drama McMafia.
But it has not confirmed if James Norton (pictured) will reprise his role as Alex Godman.
His depiction of a hedge fund manager dragged into the world of Russian organised crime made the British actor bookies’ favourite to be the next James Bond.
An average 7.1million viewers watched each episode of the first series when it launched in January. The opening episode is the most-watched show on BBC iPlayer this year.
Creators Hossein Amini and James Watkins said: ‘We are so thrilled with how McMafia has resonated with audiences and are delighted to be given the opportunity to cast more light on the shady intersections of transnational criminals and their enablers in finance, law, intelligence and governments.’
