Mel B’s claims ‘will upset real victims of violence’

MEL B’s husband Stephen Belafonte yesterday hit back at her ‘smear campaign’, insisting ‘real victims’ of domestic violence would be offended by her accusations.
Lawyers for the film producer, who is accused by his 41-year-old wife Melanie Brown — of physical and sexual abuse, said he ‘vehemently denies’ the allegations.
Adding that Belafonte, also 41, would file his response later, the legal team said the ‘entire charade was nothing more than a smear campaign’.
They added: ‘When the degree to which Ms Brown has gone to create a false depiction of her marriage to Mr Belafonte is uncovered, real victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse will be understandably offended, angry and upset.’
