Michael Jackson’s son Prince didn’t know what a Thriller dad was

MICHAEL JACKSON’S children had no idea their dad was the King of Pop until they were shown footage of excited fans fainting at the sight of him.
The star’s eldest son, 21-year-old Prince, lifted the lid on their closeted world when he joined sister Paris, 20, in Las Vegas to pay tribute to their late father on what would have been his 60th birthday.
He said it was in 2008 — when he would have been 11 — that friends showed him videos of his dad on stage.
‘You would see people fainting just at the sight of him, it was insane,’ he said. ‘It was like, “wow” — that was on a larger scale than just daddy.’
During life with their father Prince, Paris and their 16-year-old brother Prince Michael II, aka Blanket, wore masks in public.
Paris revealed how she relies on her big brother. ‘I am lucky to have him in my life — he always has my back,’ she said.
The siblings, in Jacko-style outfits, were in Vegas on Wednesday to accept the Elizabeth Taylor Legacy Award for humanitarian service.
Paris said Jackson, who died in 2009, wouldn’t have known how to handle the event because he was so humble, adding: ‘That’s how he was with us.’
