Nick Grimshaw’s free to have a lie-in

NICK GRIMSHAW will have to settle for runner-up when he hosts his final Radio 1 breakfast show today, signing off as the programme’s second longest-serving presenter.
The 33-year-old has clocked up a total of five years and 319 days as host, from September 24, 2012, to August 9, 2018. Only Chris Moyles has held the job longer, from January 5, 2004, to September 14, 2012 — a total of eight years and 253 days.
Sadly for Grimmy, who is moving to the drivetime slot so he can get some kip, he also lost 1.5million listeners during his six years — roughly a fifth of the previous audience.
