Piers clashes with Khan over headscarf ban

PIERS MORGAN has become an unlikely champion of people who wish to wear headscarves in the workplace.
During an interview on Good Morning Britain, the controversial TV host clashed with Loose Women’s Saira Khan, who argued in favour of a new ruling that allows employers to ban workers from wearing headscarves.
Saira’s view was that the ruling made matters ‘clear’ to companies and argued that, if she disagreed with a particular firm’s stance, ‘I just won’t apply to those companies.’
But Piers challenged this view, saying: ‘How would you feel if I said to you, before you go on air, “I don’t like your jacket”?’
To which Khan clapped back: ‘This isn’t about you saying it to me, it’s about a company.’
At one point, unusually, Piers had to fight to make himself heard.
‘It’s not your show Saira. If you wouldn’t mind letting me finish my sentence.’
Later Piers asked: ‘What about women who are not Muslim who want to wear a headscarf?’
‘The rule still applies,’ Khan claimed, before the pair got into an ‘It doesn’t/It does’ back and forth.
