Rachel Steven’s S Club oven

FORGET the stars… S Club 7’s Rachel Stevens is Reach-ing for the apron strings after joining the new series of Celebrity MasterChef.
The pop singer swaps the stage for the kitchen in the latest series of the BBC culinary contest.
Winning would be a dream come true for Rachel, 39 — but she faces stiff competition from other famous faces announced today. Also set to feel the heat are comic Vic Reeves, presenter Ulrika Jonsson and Debbie McGee, widow of magician Paul Daniels.

The flames of rivalry are sure to be stoked by sports sensations: seven-times world snooker champion Stephen Hendry, Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington and French tennis ace Henri Leconte.
Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels actor Nick Moran, Union J’s Jaymi Hensley and opera favourite Lesley Garrett are also among the 20 celebs trying to tickle the tastebuds.
During the course of six weeks, they will be whittled down to just one winner by returning judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace. ‘Every year, we are blown away by celebrities’ gastronomic prowess and this year doesn’t disappoint,’ said the BBC’s commissioning editor Carla-Maria Lawson.
‘The line-up is one of the strongest we have ever seen and we hope it will entertain and tantalise viewers in equal measure.’
The 12th series of Celebrity MasterChef airs later this year.
