Roman Kemp: I’m back on the market

RADIO DJ Roman Kemp says he is losing out in the love stakes following the collapse of a long-distance romance.
Capital’s breakfast presenter, who recently split from a girl who lives in Greece, put the needle on his relationship woes in an exclusive chat with Guilty Pleasures.
‘It’s hard. A long-distance relationship when you do a breakfast show is the toughest thing, mate,’ sighed Roman, who co-hosted last night’s first-ever Global Awards.
‘It’s all right… it’s just one of those things. But I’m very much back on the market.’
Roman, 25, made a very public play for model Hailey Baldwin when he sent her a Twitter message on Valentine’s Day.
But he was left red-faced after the American beauty, 21, said to be dating Shawn Mendes, killed him with silence. ‘She completely stonewalled me. It’s so awkward,’ he said.
At least Roman, whose parents are Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp and Shirlie from ’80s duo Pepsi & Shirlie, can throw himself into his work. Sharing more details about his upcoming TV show, made by James Corden’s production company, he teased: ‘It’s very fun, music-based with a lot of strange games.’
And Roman didn’t use his friendship with Corden to his advantage. ‘I didn’t go through James because I didn’t want it to seem like that type of thing,’ he added.
Roman shared hosting duties at London’s Eventim Apollo with Rochelle Humes and Myleene Klass.
