Shock DJ… transphobia row for Robbie Williams

X FACTOR hopeful Felix Shepherd leapt to Robbie Williams’s defence after he grilled the transgender contestant about his birth name before his TV audition.
The Rock DJ singer was dubbed ‘gross’ by some viewers for quizzing the 20-year-old.
One fumed: ‘Robbie Williams asking a trans man all about his life BEFORE transitioning whilst he sits with his feet up on the desk is so gross and disrespectful. #XFactor is dead and finished.’
Another wrote: ‘Trans lad comes on The X Factor, first question Robbie asks is what his name was when he was born. F***’s sake.’
Williams’ question came despite the wannabe saying: ‘I’m here to prove I’m more than a transgender guy… I’m just an everyday kind of person.’
After the backlash, Shepherd tweeted: ‘Robbie meant no harm by it. I took no offence.’
The furore came after Robbie, 44, revealed he is now a father-of-three. He and wife and fellow show judge Ayda, 39, posted a snap of daughter Colette ‘Coco’ Josephine, born to a surrogate mum, online on Friday.
