Stalker ordeal has given Lily Allen new perspective on her life and music

LILY ALLEN has spoken out about her ‘horrendous’ stalking experience and the effect it had on her life and work.
For seven years, the singer was stalked by Alex Gray — who even broke into her home ‘intent’ on killing her, she revealed.
Speaking on the George Ezra & Friends podcast, Lily said: ‘That really spun me out. I just became incredibly isolated.’
Her 33-year-old stalker was convicted of harassment in 2016, but the episode saw Lily, 32, ‘cut off from everybody’.
‘I was spending all of my time at home. I slept a lot, I cried a lot,’ she added.
Now back in the studio, the ordeal has largely shaped new album No Shame, she said.
On previous LPs, she wrote about ‘being out in the world’. ‘This time I wasn’t. I was at home on my own,’ she added.
