Steve Carell’s awkward tour bus fail

STEVE CARELL had an embarrassing story to share on The Graham Norton show — even though he wasn’t sitting on the big red chair.
The comedian is a bit of an A-lister after his leading roles in The Office and movies such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Anchorman, Little Miss Sunshine and Crazy Stupid Love. He even got an Oscar nomination for his role in Foxcatcher.
But apparently that wasn’t enough to get recognised by celeb-spotters on a Hollywood tour bus.
The buses take celeb fans on a trip to stars’ homes and hangouts, but poor Steve wasn’t on their radar.
Speaking to Norton, he said: ‘We were in LA driving to an event and we spotted one of the tour buses that go around pointing out who lives where and my wife thought it would be funny if I wound down the window and said hi to the tourists.
‘I reluctantly did and… nothing! No one recognised me! It was shameful.’
Steve was on the show to talk about his third time voicing Gru in children’s animation Despicable Me 3.
The Graham Norton Show, which also features Judi Dench, Kristen Wiig and Haim, airs tonight on BBC
