Steve Mac bags an early Brit Award

THE big hurrah is not until next month — but we can already reveal one recipient of a Brit Award.

Steve Mac, the man behind hits from Ed Sheeran and Liam Payne, has already got his mitts on the gong designed by Anish Kapoor.

He has been named producer of the year after co-writing Ed’s Shape Of You and Liam’s Bedroom Floor.

Mac, 45, said last night: ‘I feel truly humbled to receive this prestigious award, especially as it’s voted for by my peers. This is the icing on the cake.’
