Strictly king Joe McFadden all set to waltz off for the West End

STRICTLY champ Joe McFadden rates his cha-cha-chances of becoming a West End star — especially now he’s unemployed.
The ex-Holby City actor, 42, became the BBC contest’s oldest winner when he lifted the glitterball on Saturday night. And, after being killed off in the Beeb hospital drama last month, Joe is hoping to make his mark in theatre.
‘I am [unemployed],’ said the Scot, who played doc Raf di Lucca. ‘I’m optimistic about the future, things are looking up.’

Asked if he’d like to tread the boards, Joe replied: ‘It would be lovely to put all the dancing into practice, it would be a shame to let all that go’.
First, though, he will take it easy: ‘I’m going to lie in a dark room for about a week and sleep!’
Joe and professional partner Katya Jones, 28, triumphed over Alexandra Burke, Debbie McGee and Gemma Atkinson.

He became the second former Holby City actor to win after being written out of the hospital drama. Tom Chambers lifted the glitterball in the sixth series.
‘It feels utterly, utterly amazing and yeah, it’s just been brilliant,’ said Joe.
More than 13.1million tuned in, matching last year’s audience for the final. Meanwhile, contestants partied at Elstree Studios afterwards.
Alexandra, 29, left with boyfriend Josh Ginnelly, while Gemma, 33, was pictured laughing with dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec. The former Hollyoaks actress is rumoured to be dating Burke’s partner, Gorka Márquez. They were also joined by Saturdays singer Mollie King, 30, who exited Strictly a week ago.
