Strictly’s Danny John-Jules responds to bullying claims

STRICTLY contestant Danny John-Jules has hit back at rumours that he bullied his professional dance partner — by sharing a picture of King Kong.
The former Red Dwarf actor, 58, who is partnered with 27-year-old Amy Dowden, was reported to have got ‘very angry in the training room’, with a source telling The Sun that he ‘swears and shouts at her a lot’.
Things came to a head on Wednesday when he reportedly stormed out of the studio where they were rehearsing.
But Danny had a different story to tell, responding yesterday on Twitter, saying he had a ‘clear conscience’.
Implying that there was an element of racism involved, he wrote: ‘My conscience has never been clearer. I take great pride being hunted down by Khaki Wearing, Doberman holding,Tobacco chewing, Cross eyed, Cousin producing, Banjo playing, Chair rocking, Night riding, Sheet wearing, Pointy hatted, illiterate, hacks who’s [sic] truth is driven by hate.’
And today Danny followed this up by sharing a vintage poster featuring a preposterously menacing King Kong looming over a seemingly helpless white woman, which he captioned: ‘My new CV just arrived.’

Accounts differ over whether Danny has received a formal warning for his behaviour, with the insider telling The Sun: ‘Quite frankly, everyone on Strictly wants Danny to go.’
But another source denied reports that the Death In Paradise star was given a ‘final warning’.
Either way, Danny and Amy have reportedly resolved their differences and are back in training together for Saturday.
Perhaps it was just the pressure to perform that was getting to the pair, who failed to quicken the judges’ pulses with last weekend’s quickstep and came bottom of the leaderboard with just 22 points, having previously been awarded the first 10 of the series.
Married Danny, who recently joked that the so-called Strictly curse was the main attraction for him to join the programme, is set to perform a samba with Amy on this weekend’s show.
