Tom Cruise pulls off stunning Halo jump for new Mission Impossible

MOST actors would regard it as Mission Impossible but Tom Cruise is never one to shirk a challenge. And that’s why he’s the first star to pull off a daring high altitude low open (Halo) military sky dive.
The risky manoeuvre involves leaping from a plane at an altitude of 25,000ft and then plunging to below 2,000ft before opening the parachute.
Footage for Mission Impossible: Fallout shows the 55-year-old action man nailing the stunt over the desert in the United Arab Emirates. The Hollywood icon did more than 100 practice leaps with a wind machine.
An understandably chuffed Cruise said: ‘I can’t wait for an audience to see this.’ The film is out in July.
