U2 can join party in Trafalgar Square

THEY’VE played on rooftops, in a library and at the Sistine Chapel — now U2 are to perform in London’s Trafalgar Square.
The Irish rockers will be honoured with the global icon prize at the MTV European Music Awards on Sunday, and will celebrate 24 hours earlier with a free gig in the capital.
Chuffed London mayor Sadiq Khan is delighted the city will provide ‘an iconic venue for an iconic band’.

Meanwhile, the EMAs at Wembley’s SSE Arena on Sunday could see Eminem launch his comeback record, say sources.
