We’ve been weighting for a man like James

JAMES MCVEY says men — even personal trainers — have got in touch to say they related to him after he shared his challenging relationship with food and mental health.
The Vamps rocker, who won oodles of new fans on I’m A Celebrity, revealed he struggles with eating disorders.
Explaining why he shared his troubles, he told GP: ‘It’s a taboo subject in our society.’ And the reaction he has had from guys getting in touch to share their secret battles with the issue has been ‘tremendous’, he added.
‘The whole reason why I want to be vocal about my issues with food is because there are so many men like me who have felt unable to be vocal about it.
‘Not many guys feel comfortable speaking about their diet and weight, so if I am able to help people by saying something, that’s great.’ Now engaged to girlfriend Kirstie Brittain, McVey, 24, says even the most unsuspecting blokes face the same battles.
‘I’ve had a lot of people, especially my PT friends saying, “Mate, I feel exactly the same”. It’s a dark area we need to enlighten and I’m hoping to do that.’
